Housing Leadership Day
Friday, Oct. 30, 10am – 2pm
For the past 20 years, Housing Leadership Day has provided the space for housers to exchange the knowledge and tools needed to mobilize and ultimately bring more affordable homes to our neighborhoods. Our HLC community has grown, learned, and accomplished so much these past two decades– we are constantly empowered by our communities’ strength and resiliency, especially during difficult times like the ones we are experiencing. This year, we are lucky to have the support of our sponsors to bring San Mateo County an accessible and engaging virtual conference. Join us as we rise together to heal and transform our communities.
Thank you to all of our attendees, speakers, and sponsors for joining us on our 20th annual Housing Leadership Day! Special thanks to Nicole Nelson and The Justice Collective, workshop presenters and panelists, Housing Leadership Day Planning Committee, Bryan Kingston Media, Melanie Baldwin, and all the residents, and staff who took part in the bus tour clips.
Please find resources and highlights from our virtual conference below!

Guest Speaker
This year, we were joined by Nicole Nelson! Nicole is a queer, xicana, storyteller, healer, and activist who loves all things Muppets. As an equity-centered communications strategist for The Justice Collective she uses her ability to translate to create accessible, powerful messaging, content, and learning experiences that directly speak to and engage diverse audiences. The Justice Collective is a 100% Woman-of-Color-owned social impact consultancy that centers racial and social equity. Nicole led us through several mindfulness and grounding exercises during our morning plenary.
